Shipping policy

Thank you for shopping with The Iron Sprue. We're based in Alton, UK, and ship all orders from our single fulfilment location via Royal Mail.

UK Delivery

We offer the following delivery options for orders within the United Kingdom:

  • Standard Delivery — £4.99 | Estimated 3–5 working days
  • Express Delivery — £6.99 | Estimated 1–2 working days
  • Free Standard Delivery — on all UK orders over £50

Free shipping is automatically applied at checkout when your order total reaches £50 or more.

EU Delivery

We ship to European Union countries via Royal Mail at a flat rate of £14.99 per order. Estimated delivery time is 5–10 working days, depending on your location and local customs processing.

Please note that orders shipped to EU countries may be subject to import duties, taxes, or customs fees upon arrival. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in our shipping rates.

Important: Hazardous & Restricted Items

Certain products we stock — including hobby paints, primers, and aerosol sprays — are classified as hazardous goods and are subject to Royal Mail shipping restrictions:

  • Aerosols and flammable paints cannot be shipped by air and may be restricted to road/ground delivery only.
  • Some products may be unavailable for EU shipping due to Royal Mail restrictions on hazardous materials.
  • If your order contains restricted items, we will contact you to discuss alternatives or issue a refund for those items.

We recommend checking product listings for any shipping restriction notices before ordering.

Order Processing

Orders are typically processed within 1–2 working days of being placed. Orders placed after 2pm or on weekends and bank holidays will be processed the next working day.

Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information where available via Royal Mail.

Lost or Delayed Orders

If your order hasn't arrived within the estimated timeframe, please contact us and we'll investigate with Royal Mail. We ask that you allow up to 15 working days before reporting an order as lost (21 working days for EU orders).
